Rapp (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Rapp mobile application (the “App”).
1. Information and Data Handling
1.1 User Content and Storage
Rapp allows you to:
- Add grocery items
- Save and manage recipes
- Mark favorites
- Import recipes
- Take photos to identify groceries
Personal Grocery Data
Your grocery lists, favorites, and personal interactions are stored locally on your device and, if iCloud sync is enabled, in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database.
We do not access your private grocery list data stored in your personal iCloud database.
Imported Recipes
Recipes that are imported into Rapp may be stored in a shared public CloudKit database to enable availability within the app.
- These recipes do not contain personal identifiers.
- No personal grocery list data is stored in the public database.
- The public database is used solely for recipe content distribution within the app.
2. Analytics Information
We use anonymized analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve functionality, usability, and performance.
Analytics data may include:
- Feature usage
- Interaction events
- Device type
- iOS version
- General performance metrics
Analytics data:
- Does not directly identify you
- Is not linked to your grocery lists or personal recipe data
- Is used solely for improving the app
3. Cloud Storage and Sync (Apple CloudKit)
Rapp uses Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure for storage and synchronization.
- Personal grocery data is stored in your private iCloud database.
- Imported recipe content may be stored in a shared public CloudKit database.
- We do not access your private iCloud data.
- Apple processes CloudKit data in accordance with Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can manage iCloud settings directly on your device.
4. Grocery Scanner (Image Processing)
When you use the grocery scanning feature:
- The image is securely transmitted for processing.
- The image is analyzed to identify grocery items.
- The image is deleted immediately after processing.
- Images are not stored.
- Images are not used for marketing purposes.
- Images are not used to train artificial intelligence models.
5. Crash Reporting
We collect anonymized technical data related to app crashes and errors to:
- Detect bugs
- Improve stability
- Improve performance
Crash reports do not contain your grocery list data or personal recipe content.
6. Data Retention
- Your personal grocery data remains on your device and in your private iCloud account until you delete it.
- Imported recipes stored in the public CloudKit database remain available within the app.
- Analytics and crash data are retained according to the retention policies of the respective service providers.
7. Third-Party Infrastructure
Rapp relies on trusted third-party infrastructure providers for:
- Cloud data storage
- Synchronization
- Analytics
- Image processing
- Stability monitoring
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.
8. Children’s Privacy
Rapp does not collect personal data from users of any age.
9. Your Rights (EU/EEA Users)
If you are located within the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because personal grocery data is stored in your private iCloud account, you can delete it directly from your device at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by a revised “Last updated” date.
